Funny article over on Think Progress, Law Prof. Snape on why you should take his warning that Kavanaugh is ‘Voldemort’ seriously, by Joe Romm. It seems that there is really a man named Professor Snape, like the character in the J. K. Rowling’s books, though his first name is Bill, not Severus. But, anyway, he teaches law at American University. And, guess what, he’s a bit like his fictional counterpart. In particular, he is no fan of Der Drumpf and refers to the Orange One’s most recent Supreme Court pick, Brett Kavanaugh, as Voldemort.
In particular, Snape is terrified by Kavanaugh’s ideologically driven hatred of environmental regulations. Notes the article, “Snape says that Kavanaugh’s rulings on the powerful U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit reveal an ‘aversion to all science-based regulations…’
Which is interesting. And it might be useful to those who may appear before Judge Kavanaugh to keep in mind what Rowling said about the original Voldemort when she characterized him as a “raging psychopath, devoid of the normal human responses to other people’s suffering”, and whose only ambition in life is to become all-powerful and immortal. He is also a sadist who hurts and murders people—especially Muggles—just for pleasure. He has no conscience, feels no remorse, and does not recognise the worth and humanity of anybody except himself.”
