Say one thing for him, tRump knows some remarkable people. One of these is Felix Sater, or, as Wikipedia refers to him, “a Russian-American mobster, convicted felon, real estate developer and former managing director of Bayrock Group LLC, a real estate conglomerate based out of New York City. ” Sater is, also, an old friend of Trump associate Michael Cohen, as well as an advisor to Trump himself. More famously, he played a shadowy role in the attempt to negotiate a Trump Tower in Moscow.
Well, now, according to multiple press reports, we learn that Sater was also a U.S. government informant and even played a role in, incredibly, tracking down the mass murderer, Osama bin Laden. According to BuzzField and Politico, Sater had long been an FBI asset and at some point, and by some unspecified means, got bin Laden’s phone number. He then passed that on to the Americans.
You have to applaud Sater for obtaining and providing such vital information on one of America’s most dedicated and murderous enemies. But, still, you do have a vague feeling that you’re dealing here with someone who should be a supporting character in a Bond movie, rather than a close associate of our Commander-in-Chief.
