Note: this is a “virtual” interview. Marc Keyser did not actually interview the actor Jeff Daniels for this piece. However, the author employs public statements from the actor and considers what it might be like to discuss politics with him.

My guest today is award winning actor Jeff Daniels who is currently starring as Atticus Finch in the Broadway production of Harper Lee’s classic novel “To Kill A Mockingbird” adapted for the play by Aaron Sorkin.

Mr. Daniels has taken exception to President Trump.

Daniels: This could be “the end of democracy” if President Donald Trump wins re-election in the 2020 election.

Keyser: That sounds ominous; but Trump seems to be growing more desperate and more dangerous. Not impeaching Trump and simply waiting for the election hoping to vote Trump out of office may be a mistake.

Daniels: There is a line from the play: “A mob is a place where people go to take a break from their conscience.”

That’s what I see when I look at Donald Trump’s rallies.  That’s when I see the lies spewing… and people going, ‘I gotta believe in something,’ and he said he’d bring my manufacturing job back and she (Hillary) didn’t, and I’m all in.’ But at the end of the day, aside from ‘Yeah, I don’t wanna pay taxes,’ it’s race. It’s race.

Keyser: Trump’s given the green light for White Nationalism and violence. Under Trump’s direction, the U.S. voted against a U.N. Resolution condemning glorification of Nazism and neo-Nazism, with just two other countries while 131 countries voted to condemn Nazism and White Supremacy.

Trump openly embraces the White National Movement, the KKK, and neo-Nazis. Trump is the Second Coming of Hitler.

Daniels: This is about the Republican Party, or a wing of it, going ‘This is our last chance to save the party. And if we don’t, it’s the end of the Republican Party.’ And the only way they can do that was to tap the race button and say, ‘Go ahead, it’s OK.’ And he (Trump) did. And they did. That was the only card they had left to play, and they played it.

Keyser: Hitler was race baiting, playing the race card in Germany in his rise to power. The German people were, for the most part, in denial; they refused to believe that Hitler would take it to the next level. Most Germans never imagined that Hitler would end up exterminating 6 million Jews along with anyone who opposed him and start World War II that destroyed Germany. Trump is doing the same thing with his embrace of White Nationalism and pandering to his base of the racists, KKK, and neo-Nazis who are now a part of the Republican party.

Daniels: Trump’s racists supporters aren’t going to go quietly.

Keyser: Hitler had his brown shirts, his storm trooper, his army of thugs and violent racists attacking Jews in the streets and anyone who opposed Hitler.

Trump has his army of “deplorables”. His trolls on the internet who anonymously attack people who oppose him. And he has his armed and dangerous KKK, neo-Nazis brown shirts, his army of domestic terrorists ready to start an uprising in the streets. Trump is using Twitter to organize and incite violence; and the racial terrorism is growing.

Daniels: If the big gamble is to go all the way to 2020… and lose, it’s the end of democracy.

Keyser: Who’s to say there will even be an election in 2020? Trump’s selling arms to Saudi Arabia and provoking a war with Iran. Trump could plunge the nation into another war in the Middle East that escalates out of control. Trump then assumes the powers of a War Time President and jails Rachel Maddow and Morning Joe and they rest of his media critics for treason. Trump unleashes his army of KKK-Nazis in the streets to overthrow the government then he declares a state of emergency to quell the violence he unleashed and he is “forced” to suspend the elections.

Daniels: Trump would never go that far…

Keyser: That’s what they said about Hitler.

You are right, we must not wait. The time has come for a Global Phone Protest to force Congress to impeach Trump immediately.

Daniels: What is a “Global Phone Protest”?

Keyser: We call Bank of America 800-732-9194 and complain by the thousands. We call each local branch, crash their phones, cut off their lines of communication. We use social media to mobilize protesters around the globe to call and sit on the phones like a seven-ton elephant crushing their business until it starts a run on the bank and stockholders panic and crash their stock.

Jeff Daniels: But why call Bank of America?

Keyser: Why not Bank of America? That’s where the money is. When Bank of America speaks, Congress listens. The donor class, the rich can’t afford to lose Bank of America and risk a stock market crash with their money on the line. The rich and the powerful are going to want to impeach Trump… to just to avoid a financial disaster on Wall Street.

Daniels: Anything this good must be fattening or illegal?

Keyser: How can it be “illegal” to call and complain? If too many people call Bank of America and complain and the calls crash their phones, that’s the bank’s problem. You can make all the feel-good-fat-free calls you want to Bank of America.

Daniels: Well, consumers do have a right to call and complain about Bank of America.

Keyser: As consumers, we have a God-given, inalienable right to complain. We have a Constitutional right to peacefully protest. Protesting by phone is totally non-violent, passive aggressive. This is resistance from a distance; this is obstruction of business at the bank to protest Trump obstruction of justice; this is imposing economic sanctions simply by calling in solidarity; this is Virtual Reality protesting by phone without riot police, tear gas, rubber bullets, fire hoses, beatings and arrests; and we can avoid a confrontation in the streets with Trump’s paramilitary, neo-Nazi, KKK storm troopers.

Daniels: Calling to complain is obviously non-violent; but won’t Trump’s mob of bots call a liberal bank?

Keyser: There are no “liberal banks” on Wall Street.

Daniels: Oh, right.

Keyser: They say that hell hath no fury like Nancy Pelosi going after Donald Trump and the cover-up; but she is reluctant to being impeachment proceedings because it takes a 2/3 majority in the Senate to impeach and Trump Republicans are not going to vote to impeach Trump and give up control the government. Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans are in power only as long Trump remains president.

Daniels: But why would Senate Republicans care if the Phone Boycott shuts down Bank of America?

Keyser: In our corrupt representative system of government, the donor class bribes representatives and/or rents them with massive campaign contributions in exchange for legislative favors. Many members of Congress are little more than political prostitutes, selling legislative favors to special interests in exchange for campaign contributions at the expense of the America people.

The billionaires, the investors who own 90% of the wealth don’t want Bank of America failing. Investors don’t want a run on the bank; and they don’t want to risk a stock market crash with their MONEY. They don’t want the phone protest spreading to other big banks on Wall Street. The donor class will tell their representatives in Congress to Impeach Trump to stop the Phone Boycott of Bank of America to avoid a run on the bank and a stock market crash because they are ones who stand to lose A GREAT DEAL OF MONEY.

Daniels: So, you’re saying that the way to get Senate Republicans to vote to impeach Trump is to join the Phone Protest and shut down Bank of America; and the big donors who own Congress are the ones who are going come down hard on Senate Republicans because they don’t want to risk losing money in a stock market crash?

Keyser: In Phone Protest against Bank of America, the bank could go belly up and that makes Trump a luxury the donor class can no longer afford… unless Trump is impeached, and the calls are called off.

Daniels: Donald Trump is making the case for his own impeachment and quipping that he’s “becoming self-impeachable.”

Keyser: Trump in his arrogance is pushing the Democrats into impeaching him, because he believes Senate Republicans will not impeach him and his base doesn’t care about his crimes, or his impeachable offences.

But we’re going to blindside Trump. Hit him where he is most vulnerable. Trump doesn’t know what happens when there is a global phone protest to shut down Bank of America/Merrill Lynch; and how the Wrath of Rich Investors is going to rain down upon Mitch McConnell and his gang of Trump Nazis in the Senate when Bank of America is on the verge of bankruptcy and the stock market is in danger of a meltdown.
