During Sam Patten’s surprise appearance and guilty plea to federal charges in court last Friday to working for Opposition Bloc (a pro-Russia political party in Ukraine), we learned he will be fully cooperating with Mueller’s investigation. This only confirms Mueller is running a tight ship, with no leaks as no one saw this coming.
He appeared in the same court and in front of the same judge where Manafort, Trump’s campaign manager, will be tried in a few weeks. Patten will not be sentenced until after he provides his full cooperation to Mueller’s team.
Patten pled guilty to acting as an unregistered agent of the Ukraine (specifically the pro-Russia Opposition Bloc) and that is the same party that Manafort was a “fixer” for. This pro-Russia political party has strong ties to at least one Russian Oligarch.
Both Manafort and Patten have ties to Cambridge Analytica which it has now been revealed began analyzing American citizens’ views of Putin/Russia in 2014 a full two years before the 2016 election. Seems like they started their research early on how to properly manipulate the American public. The writing is becoming very clear on the wall that Trump and his team were working for a branch of the Russian government and under very strong Russian influence. Sure seems like Mueller now has a fully cooperative witness to fill in any gaps of his case against Manafort.
These were all covert activities that were never meant to see the light of day. To anyone that still denies Russia’s involvement in the Trump 2016 presidential campaign now I would like to remind them of an old phrase, ‘It is easier to fool someone than convince them they were fooled”.
Even though Rudy Giuliani, Trump’s outside counsel has insisted Mueller’s investigation would be completely over by now, that seems to be very far from the truth, but remember we are talking about Rudy Giuliani a man that lies almost as often as Trump.
