Current director of the CIA and nominee for the position of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is only the latest in a very long string of appointees by the so called president whom we now know “failed to disclose” important, material information about his past before taking his current job.
In some ways, Pompeo’s may be the most terrifying. We learned recently that he owns a business that has worked with a company that belongs to the government of China.
So, the director of the Central Intelligence Agency has worked with a company under the control of a hostile foreign power.
And concealed that fact when he underwent confirmation for the position. One might object that “failing to disclose” is not as severe an offense as “concealing,” but if he is qualified to direct the CIA, he knows what he needs to disclose, or someone told him, so he chose not to disclose it, which is concealing.
This is the Donald to a T. Exactly the kind of sloppiness we should expect from a grossly unqualified, stupid, crazy president.
Pompeo is only the latest. It was a failure to disclose of sorts that was the official excuse for the resignation of Mike Flynn, Trump’s first national security adviser, who lasted less than a month and has now pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI.
Then, of course, Jared Kushner, the so called president’s son in law, has amended his federal disclosure forms multiple times and really should not have a security clearance sufficient for him to take on virtually any of the duties the so called president has bestowed on him.
The list could go on, and on, and on, but the point is clear. Feel free to pick your favorite failure to disclose from among the Trump gang of thieves.
Again, this is exactly the sort of malfeasance we should expect from Donald Trump, and exactly why he should not be president of the United States.
