The Mueller Report is finished. So where is it? When will Congress and the American people see it… and how much of it will we see?
Mueller and his team of legal experts spent 22-months and 30 million dollars investigating the President and his ties to Russia. Mueller concluded his work and submitted the report to the Attorney General. Investigators working on each team under Mueller submitted their own summary of the findings, which they intended to be published without redactions.
Trump’s new Attorney General William Barr ignored the findings of 400-page report and the summaries from the investigators; and took it upon himself to write 4-page summery claiming the report “exonerates” the President… which it does not.
The fight over the report is getting ugly, very fast. Robert Mueller’s own team is now asserting that Barr’s “summary” is a willful misrepresentation of what’s in the report, with regard to obstruction of justice and collusion with the Russians.
William Barr is clearly corrupt, or he wouldn’t be trying to bury the Mueller report. He doesn’t care about his reputation, or he wouldn’t be lying about the Mueller report.
If Barr doesn’t suppress the Mueller report, Trump will probably fire him. But if Barr keeps the report and/or portions of the report from Congress and continues to misrepresent the findings in the report, he runs the risk that after the 2020 election, the next administration could criminally indict him for his actions. Richard Nixon’s Attorney General John Mitchell went to prison for obstruction after Nixon was gone. So just how far is Barr willing to go with this cover-up? Rachael Maddow sounds the alarm.
What Democrats are surmising from Barr’s comments to them thus far is that the Mueller report is going to be redacted within an inch of its life on the grounds that it contains a ton of grand jury information, which William Barr is taking it upon himself to black out, not only before he shows to it to the public, but before he even shows it to Congress.
This what the Mueller Report in the hands of Attorney General William Barr may look like when Congress and the American people finally see it.
The cover-up must be stopped
Washington Post: “Why would Barr behave in such an underhanded fashion? We can only surmise from his 19-page memo sent to the Justice Department before his appointment that either as a partisan defending Trump or as a lawyer wedded to an excessively broad definition of executive power Barr has never thought that the Mueller probe was legitimate. (Apparently, the entire inquiry into Richard Nixon’s obstruction of justice never struck Barr as a seminal demonstration of the principle that even the president is not above the law.)”
Barr believes the president’s power is absolute. The president can’t be indicted for crimes no matter how serious; and Congress cannot exercise oversight because the president is above the law and Congress. No wonder Trump hired him to be his new Attorney General/fixer now that his long-time attorney/fixer Michael Cohen is going to prison.
The founders wrote provisions in the Constitution to protect the nation against a man who would be king, a tyrant, a traitor in bed with Russian Dictator Vladimir Putin, an egotistical narcist, a race-baiting Hitler, a criminally insane cult leader with a messiah complex like Jim Jones.
Joe Scarborough, host of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe”, made these remarks on the Mueller Report: “There are far more important standards than just legal standards. There is a standard of what is best for the public interest. There are standards that involve what the public (has) a right to know.”
“If the president coordinated with Russia, it could be legal. It could be morally wrong, but more important than that, it could be dangerous.”
“We Americans . . . are you listening, Mr. Attorney general? Are you listening, Mitch McConnell? We Americans have a right to know if our president was compromised in any way and we have a right to know the nature of the relationship between the government of Russia and oligarchs outside of Russia and attorneys connected with the Russian government and our and just because it doesn’t reach a certain legal threshold does not mean for one moment that every single American has a right to see that report.”
Things are getting worse.
Republicans in control of the Senate issued a threat to Democrats who control the House: impeach President Donald Trump if you want to see the report… knowing, of course, that the Democrats in the Senate don’t have the votes to impeach.
The House of Representatives can initiate impeachment proceeding; but It takes a 2/3 vote in the Senate to impeach. Trump Republicans are the majority in the Senate, and they have the votes to block impeachment.
Trump refuses to release his tax returns.
Acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney said on Fox News Democrats in Congress will “never” succeed in obtaining President Donald Trump’s tax returns. “Nor should they.”
Trump is the first president in more than 40 years to refuse to release the tax documents to the public and Democratic lawmakers hope to change that, but it is likely to go to the Supreme Court stacked with Trump appointees.
We need to issue an ultimatum to Congress.
We want to see Trump’s tax returns because we want to know what Trump is hiding. Just like we want to see the Mueller Report to see what Trump does not want us to see in the report. We want transparence in our government.
We need to convince House Democrats to begin impeachment proceedings, and we need to force 16 or more Senate Republicans to vote to impeach.
We want Trump impeached, indicted and taken out of the White House in a straight-jacket. The man who would be King of America belongs in a secure institution for the criminally insane.
But, how to convince Trump Republicans to vote to impeach Trump, which means giving up Republican control over our government?
We put their feet the fire.
We are going to make Congress an offer they can’t refuse. We will make not impeaching Trump political suicide. We make it so costly, so disastrous that Republicans in the Senate will see the wisdom in impeaching their President for high crimes and tax evasion. We the people are the supreme power in this American Democracy, and Congress will bend the knee.
We take to the streets… well not exactly. We shut down Bank of America until Congress impeaches Donald J. Trump.
Demonstrate in front of the nearest Bank of America and/or Merrill Lynch; and, at the same time, call Bank of America on the phone. About 100,000 protesters calling 50 times a day would give the bank roughly 5,000,000 incoming calls and growing as word get out to call them. This would be more than sufficient to crash their phones and put business on hold as the number of protester calling increase exponentially.
Use our smartphones to botcall (call 50 times a day or more). We make the news with demonstrations out front branch offices, and we to go viral on social media activating people around the globe to join in calling and social networking.
Crash their phones, cut their lines of communication and shut down Bank of America until we see the Mueller Report… or there is a run on the bank and investors panic and crash the stock.
There is a marvelous synergy when we march and call at the same. On the phones, the Resistance becomes a force of immense power.
Why call Bank of America? Because that’s where the money is. They are a key player in the shadow government that controls our government. They have enough representatives in Congress on their payroll to get things done. When Bank of America speaks, Congress listens.
Protest in Virtual Reality on the phones in a Police Free Zone. Call anonymously from anywhere anytime. You don’t need to travel or take time off work and lose pay. You don’t risk being tear gassed, beaten by riot police, attacked by dogs, blasted with high power pressure water hoses, shot with rubber bullets, or arrested and carted off to jail. There is no fear of being attacked, run over, shot, killed or injured by Nazis for Trump.
Use your smartphone to activate activists on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc. Get the message out. Network on social media and help the Phone Protest go viral on the Internet activating thousands, millions of protesters around the globe to join in calling.
In order to speak to power, we must be in a position of power.
Call and blockade the phones at Bank of America and Congress will bend the knee. Weaponize our phones and put business on hold at Bank of America until we see the full Mueller Report and we see Trump impeached… or Congress loses Bank of America Merrill Lynch and faces a meltdown on Wall Street. It’s their choice.
