The Trump administration is expecting to get sued over its strident anti-immigrant policies, but NBC is reporting that White House is confident of winning any court fight now that Brett Kavanaugh is on the Supreme Court. Julia Ainsley reports that the White House actually worked on an immigration plan that was certain to be unacceptable to the majority of the American people, and equally certain to draw lawsuits, but with Kavanaugh in their hip pocket, who cared?
Well, the whole world may care. Ainsley notes, “Other legal experts and immigration advocates have said the policy would be in violation of domestic and international law. They cite international treaties that say an asylum seeker can make a legitimate claim anywhere, regardless of how they enter.”
Which means that under Trump, America is once again about to court international pariah status.
