Here’s a question, why isn’t anybody concerned about the fact Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, can’t seem to get his security clearance? He’s been working at the White House, probably seeing a lot of classified material, but as of press time, he still doesn’t have the security rating that ought to go with his position.
In fact, it seems to be a real problem inside the White House. CNN is saying that there is serious power struggle going on between John Kelly and Kushner over this very issue. Kelly, as chief of staff, doesn’t want Kushner to have access to really classified material.
Which makes one wonder, what exactly is in Kushner’s past that makes it so hard for him to pass muster?
Well, it just might be contact with foreign agents. Most famous, of course, are his links to Russian business associates. In fact, right now, Robert Mueller seems to be investigating those connections.
But there are other considerations as well. Kushner, and his wife, Ivanka Trump, are close friends of Wendi Deng Murdoch, the former wife of Fox News’ Rupert Murdoch, and quite possibly a Chinese agent. In fact, according to the Wall Street Journal, American “counterintelligence officials” warned Jared and Ivanka that their friend might be reporting to Beijing. Whether Jared and Ivanka took the warning isn’t clear.
Maybe the question isn’t why Kushner can’t get his security clearance, but why anyone in their right mind would consider giving it to him.
