Greta is not alone any more

VirtualReality2 Host and author Marc Keyser

Greta Thunberg, the 16-year-old Swedish activist, started out alone until made international headlines after she launched a “Fridays For Future” campaign last year, calling for students across the globe to protest outside their parliaments to demand climate action. She has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Greta doesn’t want life on the planet to be extinguished; and she is leading a growing movement to save the planet that is becoming a force of reckoning. Her enemies are growing. Greta receives sarcastic tweets from the President of the United States, death threats from neo-Nazis, and now an effigy hanging from a bridge in Rome.

In her speech to the UN, she said: “People are suffering. People are dying. Entire ecosystems are collapsing. We are in the beginning of a mass extinction and all you can talk about is money and fairytales of eternal economic growth. How dare you.”

The dummy dressed in a yellow poncho with a teenager’s pigtail braids had a noose tied around its neck along with a sign in English that reads: “Greta is your God”.

“We hanged Greta Thunberg in Rome. The effigy has her face and even her braids. Other actions will follow,” the group announced on social media along with an accompanying photo of the effigy.

Italian authorities are investigating the “aggravated threat”. Local media reports say the effigy was strung up by a group called Gli Svegli, which means “The Awake”.

The disgusting effigy is a death threat against a 16-year old who has the courage to stand up against the pollution producing industries that are destroying our planet. This is also an attack on millions of her supporters around the globe.

Greta is not our God… She is our Joan of Arc, and we’re ready to fight for her.

We must fight back. We must stand up for Greta. We must show the world that young Greta Thunberg is not alone anymore. We must overcome our paralysis of hopelessness.

We have a young warrior of the human spirit leading us in the struggle to save the planet. The attack on Greta has provoked outrage among climate activists ; but our anger must be focused into a more powerful means of protest.

I’m calling on everyone everywhere with phone to join the protest to defend Greta.

Sister Helen Prejean, the nun whose epic book Dead Man Walking turned public opinion against state-sanctioned killing in America is calling on Americans to escape their own paralysis and “reach out” in a time of “hopelessness in our country.” “When you act there’s a freedom that courses through you. There’s a life force; it’s the not acting that is the most paralyzing.” “It’s not just about being pious, and praying, praying mainly that God solves the problems of the world… disconnecting the spiritual energy of faith from really rolling up your sleeves and getting involved,” she said. “Spiritual energy and purpose and drive is available to everybody.”

Join the fight. Roll up your sleeves, get involved, get connected, join in calling the target bank in your country and complain. Jam the phones with millions of complaints. Obstruct business with a tsunami wave of complaints in every city. Start a run on these banks until they stop financing fossil fuels.

Don’t hate…Mass Communicate

Join the Power Protest by Phone. Show those in power who are destroying our planet for profit and stirring up the neo-Nazis that Greta Thunberg is not alone. There are millions of us. We are a formidable force, a mighty army when we come together and protest by smartphone, when we are no longer paralyzed by hopelessness. We have the power to call collectively and crush their big banks… until those in power who are exploiting us and destroying our planet repent.

How dare you make death threats against Greta?
