So, it is being reported that Donald Trump told Justin Trudeau that he could justify measures against Canada on grounds of national security. Specifically, he is said to have said, because Canada burned the White House.
The problem being, of course, that Canada never did that. Presumably, 45 is thinking about the War Of 1812…which was not with Canada, but with Britain.
But, maybe 45 just has a few history issues. That being case, we thought we’d share with him a wonderful piece of music that came out of the same war, Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture. And we just happened to have found on Youtube an excellent version of the Overture, which just happened to play a role in the film V for Vendetta.
Which, come to think of it, is about a revolution against a repressive and corrupt right-wing government.
Isn’t that a funny coincidence?
