AOC vs. Fox

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Takes on Fox News

Virtual News2 with host and commentator, Marc Keyser is joined by Sean Hannity at Fox News and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) My guests were unable to join me in the studio, but they are here for a virtual interview.

Host Marc Keyser: Alexandria, I admire your honesty and spirit. I think Michael Moore is right, you should be running for president.

I admit that when President Trump and Sean Hannity along with the rest the Fox News attack dogs call you ‘crazy’ or ‘dumb, dumb’ and try to discredit you it makes me angry… very angry. It makes me want to go after their advertisers and shut down the Fox News propaganda machine.

Sean Hannity: My producer and I call her ‘Ocasio’, or maybe ‘O-scare-io,’ or ‘O-crazy-o’, ‘O-socially’, and ‘O-socialist-o’.

Marc: Mr. Hannity, between you and your producer you have the emotional development of a of six-year old. Your mission seems to be to spread Trump’s lies and deceit and attack and bully people who disagree.

You keep bragging that you want to destroy Obama Care and replace it with what? Trump Doesn’t Care. You don’t want healthcare for “everyone”. You’re rich, and you want tax cuts for the rich, and you don’t want our government to spend our tax money on Medicare for all because that’s “socialism”, it’s too expensive, and it gives people sticker shock.

Alexandria: So first of all, the thing that we need to realize is people talk about the sticker shock of Medicare for all. They do not talk about the sticker shock of the cost of our existing system.

You know, in a Koch brothers-funded study, if any study’s going to try to be a little bit slanted it would be one funded by the Koch brothers, it shows that Medicare for all is actually much more — is actually much cheaper than the current system that we pay right now.

Let’s not forget that the reason that the Supreme Court upheld the Affordable Care Act is because they ruled that each of these monthly payments that everyday Americans make is a tax. And so while it may not seem like we pay that tax on April 15th, we pay it every single month or we do pay it in tax season if we don’t buy, you know, these plans off of the exchange.

So we’re paying for this system. We — Americans have the sticker shock of health care as it is. And what we’re also not talking about is why aren’t we incorporating the cost of all the funeral expenses of those who die because they can’t afford access to health care? That is part of the cost of our system.

Why don’t we talk about the cost of reduced productivity because of people who need to go on disability, because of people who are not able to participate in our economy, because they have — because they’re having issues like diabetes or they don’t have access to the health care that they need.

I think at the end of the day we see that this is not a pipe dream. Every other developed nation in the world does this. Why can’t America? And that is the question that we need to ask. We have done these things before.

Marc: Jimmy Kimmel was in tears when he talked about how his son was born with a congenital heart defect, and he was fortunate to have the money to pay for the medical treatment to save the baby’s life. He laid into Republicans for their attempts to dismantle the Affordable Care Act and the fact that the majority of Americans and not rich and don’t have full coverage and affordable drug costs.

Take an ordinary family of three with an income of 50k a year. The employer provides health insurance. Except, the company takes $120 a week, which is over 6k. Except there is a 4k deductible. The family has to pay 10K before insurance pays a dime; and there’s a cap of 80% on how much health insurance will pay out in the event of a catastrophic illness.

Instead of Obama Care, we have Trump Doesn’t Care. Millions of Americans don’t have health insurance, and millions of workers have insurance with sizable deductibles that does not provide full coverage. In other words, millions of Americans live on edge. If there is a major illness or accident in the family, they are in danger of being cut off from life-saving medical treatment and going bankrupt. That’s sticker shock.

Alexandria: We write unlimited blank checks for war and we just gave billionaires and the richest corporations on earth a trillion-dollar tax cut, but we can’t afford health care for everyone?

Marc: President Trump promised to do away with Obama Care and have beautiful health insurance. Now American has Trump Doesn’t Care. We don’t have affordable national health insurance coverage for everyone, instead we have this national health insurance disaster. On Fox News, Trump’s lies are dished out like poisoned candy at Halloween.

Alexandria: My office has been flooded with anonymous bigots calling with hateful messages.

I sent a warning to these racial bigots flooding my office with their hateful telephone calls. All threats are forwarded to Capitol Police to build files. For all those who think your bigoted calls + digital threats are anonymous: Enjoy!

Marc: President Trump and Fox News incite these attacks. What most concerns me is the death threats. President Trump’s attorney/fixer, Michael Cohen, has been convicted for federal crimes. President Trump is named as an “unindicted co-conspirator” just as President Nixon was named an unindicted co-conspirator in the Watergate Scandal and forced out of office.

Trump is calling Cohen a “rat” and suggesting that his father-in-law should be investigated. The President of the United States is a mob boss openly intimidating a key witness against him with death threats and threatening to use his power as president to investigate and harass Cohen’s family.

Since a primary source of support for President Trump’s agenda of bigotry and hate is Fox News, perhaps we should be calling Fox News to put their business on hold until they fire these Trump propagandists starting with Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, and Laura Ingraham, Lou Dobbs, ‎Judge Jeanine Pirro, and Fox and Friends.

All we have to do is call in force… not to say hateful things, but simply to communicate. Congregate on their phones and tie up the lines with a hurricane of calls of concern about their wellbeing, and put their business on hold. As Christians we can call and hold a prayer vigil. We can call these sinners to repentance in the hopes of saving their lost souls.

Alexandria: Many have recognized that @FoxNews has crossed a line beyond conservatism and into outright bigotry with their financing of Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingraham. Tucker finances the @DailyCaller, which posted fake nudes of me.

But what good would it do to call Fox News advertisers?

Marc: Remember when Tucker Carlson crossed the line with a diatribe about the “hoards” of refugees overrunning the border with Mexico “invading” America?

In the infamous words of Tucker Carlson, immigration “makes our country poorer, and dirtier, and more divided.” Refugees are poor, dirty and un-deserving… their lives don’t matter.

Advertisers responded in disgust and cancelled their advertising. Apparently, these companies do not want their brand name associated with this racist, fear mongering Trump shill on Fox News.

Some 20 companies pulled their ads from the Tucker Carlson show: among them Land Rover, IHOP, Ancestry.com, Just For Men, Minted, Smile Direct, Pacific Life, ScotteVest, Nerd Wallet, TD Ameritrade, Bowflex, CareerBuilder, Chase…

But My Pillow refused to drop Fox News. Mike Lindell, the owner of My Pillow, supports the Trump propaganda machine on Fox. Lindell said, “I did not take my advertising down from Fox News… nor do I intend to.”

Alexandria: So what you’re suggesting is a large-scale Phone Protest aimed at Fox News advertisers to convince them to take their advertising elsewhere and cripple Fox News financially?

Marc: Laura Ingraham attacked Parkland shooting survivor, young David Hogg. He called for a boycott of Laura Ingraham, and some 24 advertisers cancelled their ads to force Fox News to shut down her radio show.

The Resistance needs to call Fox News advertisers starting with My Pillow- a Trump supporter- to convince them to drop their advertising with Fox News. We need to send a message to Fox News advertisers: Cancel your advertising before your phones catch on fire and your business gets burned. The goal is to call in such numbers and cost Fox News so much money in lost revenue that it becomes an economic necessity for them to fire Sean Hannity, Trucker Carlson, Laura Ingraham, Lou Dobbs, Judge Jeannie, Fox and Friends, and all the rest.

We don’t want to harass anyone. We want to be polite when we call by the thousands, by the hundreds of thousands to collapse their phone system and put their business on hold until they stop advertising on Fox, and other advertisers get the message… Fox News is toxic for business.

The way to end the hateful attacks on Alexandria and silence the Trump propaganda machine is to put Fox News out of business.

Alexandria: There is never any fight for us to pick that’s too big. We proved that this year.

Marc: Call My Pillow 800-544-8939, interrupt business as usual, and cost them money, a great deal of money until they #DropFox and Fox fires the Trump propagandizers… all of them. Join the Phone Protest and help us prove the bigger they are the harder they fall.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez standing up for us, the least we can do is call Fox News and stand behind her.
