Yesterday we wrote about how Fox News said that Trump’s appointment of Matthew G. Whitaker may have been unconstitutional. Well, by Golly, the opinion was seconded by none other than George T. Conway III, the other half of Kellyanne Conway.
The Washington Post quotes Conway as saying, “It’s illegal. And it means that anything Mr. Whitaker does, or tries to do, in that position is invalid.” Meaning that even if he wanted to shut down the Russia investigation, he would have no real authority to do so.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Conway has taken an opposing position to his wife, or to Trump, but it is interesting that the Constitutionality of Whitaker’s appointment is becoming more and more questionable.
