From the What The F__k File…
Trump’s formerly favorite feel-good doctor, Harold Bornstein, is now saying that his office was “raided” in February of last year by none other than Trump’s own bodyguard, a Trumpian lawyer, and an unidentified third man. According to NBC News, Bornstein claims that the mysterious three took away all of Trump’s medical records.
And exactly what was their motive? A little hard to say, but apparently the raid came just 48 hours after Bornstein “… told a newspaper that he had prescribed a hair growth medicine for the president for years.”
In short, it looks very much like 45 sent a goon squad after his former doc to preserve and protect…his hair.
His. Freaking. Hair.
Of course, it is a little hard to feel a whole lot of sympathy for Bornstein. This is a man, after all, who famously told the world that Trump would be the healthiest president in American history. Something about karma and all that. But it is also true that the good doctor didn’t deserve to have his offices invaded by band of white-collar leg-breakers either. And it does sound like the “raid” wasn’t a gentle business. NBC quotes Bornstein as saying, “…he felt ‘raped, frightened and sad’ when Keith Schiller and another ‘large man’ came to his office to collect the president’s records…” The raiders even told Bornstein to remove a framed photo he had on a wall of himself standing with Trump.
And, clearly, Bornstein’s sudden fall from Trump’s grace was because he did admit to a newspaper that he had given the man “Propecia, a drug for enlarged prostates that is often prescribed to stimulate hair growth in men.” Which means that the whole affair revolved around 45’s titanic ego. After all, cool, vibrant, youthful macho guys don’t have enlarged prostates, and do have lots and lots of hair. (Just ask Yul Brynner.)
All of which makes one rather shudder at what might happen is someone…say, someone with nuclear weapons…should ever really get under the man’s skin.
But, in the meantime, we can at least rejoice with Dr. Bornstein as he gets a little revenge on his former patient. He is, says NBC, celebrating the fall of Trump’s other doctor, Ronny Jackson, who didn’t get to head up the VA. And as for his infamous quote about Trump being amazingly healthy?
That, too, he is qualifying. He had been pressured to make the comment, Bornstein says. And besides, when he said it, all the other American presidents (with the exception of Obama) were either already dead, or not particularly healthy.
So, in a sense…
